The Lovin’ Spoonful had the dog days of summer in mind when they wrote “Come on, come on and dance all night; despite the heat, it’ll be alright”! When music and entertainment are your life, it is easy to find some motivation for summer events in just about every song you hear: School’s Out for Summer (Alyce Cooper) or Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy (Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald). Every genre seems to have its share: Hot Fun in the Summertime (Sly & the Family Stone) and even Summer Nights (Olivia Newton John). Of course there is also, Cruel Summer (Bananarama), The Boys of Summer (Don Henley), Summertime (George Gershwin) and Summertime Blues (Eddie Cochran). With the exception of the winter holidays, there seem to be more songs that celebrate the longest, hottest days of the year than there are for any other season. Perhaps that is because summer means celebrating for a reason, the season, as well as imaginably some news and the views!
These warmer months are often memory-making times. They are filled with summer events like outdoor weddings, backyard gatherings, company picnics and mountain top celebrations. Sunshine typically rules – think Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the Waves) or Good Day Sunshine (The Beatles). However, all seasoned party- and event-planners know that occasionally Mother Nature is an uninvited guest, perhaps she brings a little Riders on the Storm (The Doors) or Rock You Like A Hurricane (Scorpions). Large, tented party environs are always the safest bet, a little Shelter From the Storm (Bob Dylan), if you will.
Do we have you humming some of your favorite tunes yet? If just reading the titles of the songs and artists invokes memories and emotions for you, it is not hard to imagine how all of life’s special moments are made even more important with the perfect soundtrack, by the perfect entertainer. There is no argument that music plays a role in all of life’s biggest moments. Everyone knows the words and tune of Happy Birthday, and has the ability to hum Pomp and Circumstance and The Wedding March. Dick Clark said that, “Music is the soundtrack of your life”. All of life’s moments are sprinkled throughout the seasons of the year, with summer typically catching a generous handful. A lot of thought, planning (and let’s face it, money) goes into executing any important celebration. This, of course, includes the event entertainment, and the venue, as well. Regardless of where you will be celebratory, from the rooftops of downtown overlooking city lights – you know, A Mile High in Denver (Jimmy Buffet) – to high in the Rockies with a breath-taking backdrop while Counting Stars (OneRepublic), music can make the moment.

Plan Ahead for Summer Events
While we are already almost through the summer of 2022, it is never too early to start looking ahead to landmark celebrations for next summer, graduation parties and other childhood milestones have their own set of soundtracks, too – I Hope You Dance (Lee Ann Womack) and We Are Young (fun) come to mind. It might feel like a long time in the future, but we all know that as the seasons change, time flies, and the best party entertainment companies are often booked out many months (and sometimes years) in advance.
You have found and secured the perfect venue, and of course hired us, the perfect entertainment. Now, let’s Get This Party Started (Pink). How about some tips for planning a perfect summer party. Set the ideal stage with a well thought-out theme (check out some themed events). Everything does not have to be matchy-matchy, but an underlying concept helps bring it all together. Since it is likely to be hot, have refreshing drinks at the ready. You can use seasonal fruits to dress them up with both flavor and visual appeal. In your layout, be sure to imagine conversation areas where your favorite people can spend time chatting. And since your summer event is sure to be a success that carries on well into the evening, find ways to light up the night – lanterns, candles or solar lamps all work. Better yet, ignite some excitement in a fire pit for a cozy or romantic vibe. Lastly, plan ahead for some uninvited guests. This time of year brings out those that buzz, bite and sting, so come up with a strategy using netting, sprays or zappers to help your more welcome guests stay comfortable.

All of the seasons and reasons for summer celebrations are made more memorable with the right entertainment (maybe a wedding orchestra). Weddings and dancing under the stars are the business of the best bands and DJs; fairy tale moments are all the more elegant with strings to accompany them. With so many opportunities to make This Magic Moment (The Drifters), Moments Notice & Company has the entertainment you desire for any occasion, anywhere this summer.
